- Anonymous Call Rejection *77 / *87
- Anonymous Call Rejection screens out calls from callers who have blocked their Caller ID information. To activate Anonymous Call Rejection, dial *77. Callers who have blocked their Caller ID information will then hear a recording instructing them not to block their Caller ID when calling you. To turn off Anonymous Call Rejection, dial *87. This feature is normally included with Caller ID, but may be available separately from your local telephone company. This feature is not available in all areas.
- Call Forwarding *72 / *73
- Call Forwarding lets you forward incoming calls to your home number to another telephone number. The number can be anywhere in the U.S., though you will pay any long distance charges for forwarded calls outside your local calling area. To activate Call Forwarding, dial *72 followed by the telephone number to forward calls to. Once someone answers, Call Forwarding is in effect. If no one answers or the line is busy, hang up and dial *72 followed by the same telephone number, and Call Forwarding will then be in effect. To turn off Call Forwarding, dial *73. This feature requires a subscription from your local telephone company. Also available in some areas is Remote Access to Call Forwarding, which lets you turn Call Forwarding on and off from telephones other than your home phone. Contact your local telephone company for availability.
- Call Block *60 / *80
- Call Block, also known as Call Screening or Call Rejection, allows you to block incoming calls from specific telephone numbers. To activate Call Block or add a telephone number to the rejection list, dial *60. If you don’t know the number to be blocked, dial *60 immediately after hanging up from the call. To turn off Call Block, dial *80. Call Block cannot block calls from some cellular phones, pay phones or business lines. It also cannot block most long distance numbers. This feature requires a subscription from your local telephone company.
- Call Return *69
- Call Return allows you to obtain the telephone number of the last person who called you, and to return the call. It does not return all telephone numbers. To use, dial *69. You will hear the number of the last person to contact you, or a message that the number is not available. To call the number back, then press 1. This feature is available to most lines as a pay-per-use feature, or can be subscribed on a monthly basis. Contact your local telephone company for pricing.
- Call Transfer
- Call Transfer lets you transfer a call to another number. To use it, press the flash button or hook switch briefly, dial the number to transfer the call to, and hang up. You can also speak to the third party before transferring the call, and create a three-way call before transferring the call. You will pay long distance charges, if any, for the entire transferred call, even after you hang up. Call Transfer requires a subscription to Three Way Calling. This feature is only available in limited areas.
- Call Waiting NA / *70
- Call Waiting lets you receive a second call, when you are already on the line. You will hear a short beep during your conversation when an incoming call arrives. To answer it, press your flash button or hook switch briefly. The first caller will be placed on hold, and the second caller will be on the line. Press the flash button or hook switch briefly again to return to the first caller. To disable Call Waiting for a single call, dial *70 followed by the telephone number. This feature requires a subscription from your local telephone company.
- Caller ID *65 / *85
- Caller ID lets you know who is calling before you pick up the phone. This feature requires Caller ID equipment attached to your telephone line. Most new telephones include Caller ID display units, and separate units can also be purchased. Caller ID displays after the first ring, so if you answer the phone on the first ring, you will not see the display. In some areas, the feature can be turned on and off. To activate Caller ID, dial *65, and to deactivate it, dial *85. This feature requires a subscription from your local telephone company.
- Caller ID with Call Waiting ID
- Call Waiting ID lets you know who is calling on a Call Waiting call before you answer. This feature requires Call Waiting ID compatible equipment attached to your telephone line. Not all Caller ID units can display Call Waiting ID calls. Check your equipment carefully and replace it if necessary. This feature requires a subscription from your local telephone company and also requires that you subscribe to Caller ID.
- Caller ID Blocking *67 / *82
- You can block your Caller ID information for a single call by dialing *67 before the telephone number. In most areas you can also subscribe to Caller ID Blocking at no charge, which blocks your caller ID on all outgoing calls, unless you unblock it by dialing *82 before your phone number. This feature does not require a subscription and carries no charge.
- Call Trace *57
- Call Trace lets you initiate a trace of an incoming harassing or threatening phone call. Successful traces can only be released to law enforcement agencies for prosecution. Immediately after hanging up from the call, dial *57. Typically two or three successful traces are needed. After this, contact the local Annoyance Call Bureau for further instructions. In most areas this feature is available to all lines on a pay-per-use basis, but in some areas requires a subscription. Contact your local telephone company before initiating traces for costs and to get the Annoyance Call Bureau telephone number, which varies by area.
- Continuous Redial *66 / *86
- Continuous Redial, or Repeat Dial, lets you redial a busy telephone number for up to 30 minutes. When you call a busy telephone number, hang up, dial *66, and hang up again. When the line becomes available, the telephone will ring and you will be connected to your party. To cancel a Continuous Redial in progress, dial *86. This feature is available to most lines as a pay-per-use feature, or can be subscribed on a monthly basis. Contact your local telephone company for pricing.
- Priority Call *61 / *81
- Priority Call, or Priority Ring, gives a distinctive ring to calls from telephone numbers that you choose. To set up Priority Call, dial *61 and follow the instructions. To disable Priority Call, dial *81. This feature requires a subscription from your local telephone company.
- Selective Call Forwarding *63 / *83
- Selective Call Forwarding (or Priority Call Forwarding) allows you to forward calls from your home telephone, but only if those calls originate from specific numbers you choose. To turn on or set up Selective Call Forwarding, dial *63 from your home telephone. To turn off the feature, dial *83. This feature requires a subscription from your local telephone company.
- Speed Calling *74 *75
- Speed Calling lets you program shortcuts for telephone numbers to dial them quickly with just one or two digits. It comes in two flavors, Speed Calling 8 and Speed Calling 30. These features require a subscription from your local telephone company.
- Speed Calling 8 *74
- Speed Calling 8 lets you assign a telephone number to each of the digits 2 through 9. To program the numbers, dial *74, followed by the digit 2 through 9 to assign the number to, followed by the full telephone number as you would normally dial it. Then, to dial the number in the future, dial the digit 2 through 9 followed by #.
- Speed Calling 30 *75
- Speed Calling 30 lets you assign a telephone number to each of the numbers 20 through 49. To program the numbers, dial *74, followed by the number 20 through 49 to assign the number to, followed by the full telephone number as you would normally dial it. Then, to dial the number in the future, dial the number 20 through 49 followed by #.
- Three Way Calling
- Three Way Calling lets you call two telephone numbers and talk to both parties at the same time. To activate Three Way Calling, press the flash button or hook switch briefly, listen for dial tone, and dial the other number. To bring all parties on the line, press the flash button or hook switch briefly again. If there was no answer, press the flash button or hook switch briefly twice to return to the original conversation. This feature is available to most lines as a pay-per-use feature, or can be subscribed on a monthly basis. Contact your local telephone company for pricing.
- Voice Mail *98
- Voice Mail services vary by telephone company. Most major telephone companies allow you to check your voicemail by dialing *98 from your home telephone. Contact your local telephone company for voice mail instructions.
