BellSouth introduces 6Mbps DSL for small business

BellSouth on Monday announced that its 6Mbps DSL service, FastAccess DSL 6.0, is now available to small business customers across its 9-state footprint.

The service was originally introduced for residential customers three weeks ago.

BellSouth is marketing the new service to small businesses with demanding bandwidth needs.

“Whether it’s a small auto repair shop that relies on the Internet daily to purchase parts or an engineering firm that uses the Internet to transmit detailed building plans to clients, BellSouth’s new FastAccess Business DSL service introduces a new level of productivity and efficiency for their business,” said David Scobey, president of BellSouth Small Business Services.

“By adding this fourth tier of service for our customers, BellSouth now offers a wider range of broadband options in our market,” said Pam Jones, BellSouth’s vice president of data product management.

The service includes downstream speeds of up to 6Mbps and upstream speeds up to 512Kbps, a free domain name, and installation and repair guarantees. Pricing starts at $74.95 with bundled service packages.
