LG VX9800: What doesn't this phone do?
Verizon Wireless now offers the incredible EV-DO supporting, dual-band CDMA LG VX9800 phone that seems to do everything but the dishes. And I want one.
It took me a while to figure out how in the world one would watch TV on a wireless phone, but this phone has the answer. Flip it open and a much larger 320×256 screen and stereo speakers are inside for your viewing pleasure. Or plug in a pair of headphones for private listening. A design like this makes that VCAST subscription worthwhile.
Or just check your e-mail, surf the Web, and send instant messages. I’m a big fan of phones with embedded keyboards, and this one certainly fits the bill. Trying to type on the number pad is a complete pain, and this phone alleviates my pain quite well.
The LG VX9800 includes 128MB of memory, and a mini SD card slot to expand the available memory. And you’ll need it to make full use of that 1.3 megapixel camera, with flash, to take still or motion video shots. The camera takes pictures at up to 1280×960 resolution, and includes several filters. You can also shoot up to 15 seconds of video at 320×240.
And it’s Bluetooth compatible, to keep you and your laptop in sync. Oh, no, this means I need a new laptop, too; my current one doesn’t have Bluetooth.
There’s a speakerphone included, too. Oh, and I forgot to mention the business card reader.
The only thing I can’t find on this phone is the kitchen sink. But when they add it, I’ll be sure to let you know.
