Verizon adds new Freedom packages in Texas
Verizon announced Thursday the availability of two new unlimited domestic calling packages in Texas, with prices starting from $34.95 per month.
The new plans are Verizon Freedom Essentials, which offers unlimited local, regional and domestic long-distance calling with three calling features — Home Voice Mail, Call Waiting and Caller ID — for $39.95 per month, and Verizon Freedom Value, which offers unlimited calling with no features for $34.95 per month.
Existing packages include Verizon Freedom Unlimited, which offers unlimited calling with the customer’s choice of three calling features for $49.95 per month, and Verizon Freedom, which offers unlimited calling with Home Voice Mail, Call Waiting, Caller ID, Speed Dial 8, and Three-Way Calling for $54.95 per month.
“Verizon offers unparalleled choice in its calling packages, allowing customers to choose the package that meets their needs,” said Judy Verses, senior vice president of regional marketing for Verizon. “In Texas, we now have a broad portfolio of both unlimited calling options and broadband access products, giving our customers both choice and value.”
The new plans can also be bundled with Verizon DSL, FiOS (where available) and DIRECTV services.
Verizon DSL service provides download speeds from 768 kilobits per second to 3.0 megabits per second, while FiOS Data service provides download speeds between 5.0 and 30.0 megabits per second.
While Verizon made the announcement Thursday, as of Friday the new packages were not yet available on the Verizon Web site. Contact Verizon to confirm availability or place an order.
