Sprint Nextel merger complete

The merger of Sprint and Nextel has gained final regulatory approval and the merged company will begin trading on the stock exchange Monday.

The merger received approval from both the Federal Communications Commission (PDF) and the Department of Justice.

The merged company, named Sprint Nextel, will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “S.”
